As we get older, exercising our brains is just as important as exercising our bodies. There are countless ways to keep your mind sharp, whether it’s a physical activity that also require some mental agility – such as playing golf, dancing or singing in a choir – or brain-stimulating puzzles and games such as crosswords, Sudoku, chess or Scrabble.
Whatever you use, it’s a good idea to keep challenging those grey cells, preferably on a daily basis. To give you something to think about, here are a couple of brainteasers. Try hard to puzzle your way through them, but if you really can’t do it, then answers are below:
Question One: Brothers Tim and Tom were always fighting with each other. Their mother eventually got so tired of breaking them up that she came up with a novel punishment.
She made them stand on the same sheet of newspaper, but in such a way that they couldn’t touch each other.
How did she do it?
Question Two: I am at the beginning of all things.
I am at the end of eternity.
There is but one path from my beginning to my end.
My whole embodies indifference.
What am I?
